Gerina Stevenson was born in Mexico in the family of Mexican parents Alan Stevenson and Rita Stevenson. She is of Mexican-American heritage and is an American of nationality. Ever since she was young she's had an intense interest playing sports. Gerina started to play golf at the age of 15 years old. Gerina attended Goddard High School. While in high school, she won the state golf tournament of New Mexico. Additionally, she was a volleyball player and competed at the national level. She was joined The University of Texas. In her final year, she took home every single tournament she competed in. During her undergrad career she received the Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year as well as the UTEP Female athlete of year.
